Kamagurka

KAMAGURKA, aka Luc Zeebroek, is a Belgian cartoonist, theater- and televisionmaker and allround artist. Kamagurka is known for his absurd cartoons and tv-shows.

Kamagurka was born in 1956, in the drowsy town of Newport, on the Belgian coast. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent but stopped short before his graduation. He began working as a cartoonist in HUMO, a Belgian magazine, and quickly gained fame with it. Kamagurka published in several countries including the Netherlands (NRC Handelsblad, Playboy, Esquire), France (Charlie Hebdo, Hara Kiri), UK (Squibb, The Spectator, Deadpan), Germany (Titanic, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Zitty, Eulenspiegel ), Austria (Die Presse), USA (The New Yorker, National Lampoon, RAW) and many others …

He did several shows in the Belgian and Dutch television, had a radio show with Herr Seele (his lifelong companion) on Studio Brussels, and performs throughout the year in the Netherlands and Belgium. He also wrote a children’s story and two plays that were staged in the NTG Ghent. Kamagurka has released more than 25 comic books from Bert and Bobje to Cowboy Henk. As a succesfull painter he has been exhibited in several galleries in the Netherlands and Belgium.
