From Saturday 15.06 until Sunday 14.07, Galerie Jos Depypere will host a solo exhibition of the oeuvre of Koen Scherpereel.
Could it be that Koen Scherpereel (1961-1997) is the most typical artist of his generation? He died at the age of 36 and was a prolific creator of a diverse body of artistic work. His legacy consists of two thousand paintings, prints, and drawings. He shared the colorful exuberance of James Ensor, as well as the tragic lyricism of Edvard Munch.
