After a successful edition in Knokke during the summer of 2020, Galerie Jos Depypere decided to open another pop-up! This time around we spent de summer months at Ostend!
Ostend is progressively emerging as the cultural place to be of Belgium’s coast. With a vibrant art scene and more than 50 galleries, the coastal city appears to be the perfect place to open new pop-up gallery. Thanks to Bart Ramakers and Galerie Papillon, we found an ideal location on the corner of the Marie-José Plein (former Galerie Papillon) where the pop-up opened its doors on July 1, 2022.
An artwork by Kamagurka and Herr Seele was created for the event. The painting represents two Ostend personalities: Cowboy Henk and singer Arno. The work named “Cowboy Oh La La” fits in a series of works honouring the city of Ostend.
In addition to this unique series of works of art, works by José Vermeersch, Bart Ramakers, Giampaolo Amoruso, Christian Silvain, Bernard Pras and many others were exhibited as well.
