Godfried Vervisch (1930 – 2014), post-expressionist and protest painter and pastelist born in Ypres, Belgium in 1930. Brief studies in Saint Luc Gand but essentially self-taught.

At his beginnings he made landscapes in the Westhoek and the Flemish Ardennes, but evolves towards an expressionist and protest painting, exuberant with vigorous colors. The themes are translated in a tragic and moving way.
