For 4 weeks, Galerie Jos Depypere had the honor of welcoming the famous Belgian artist Kamagurka for the exhibition “KAMA in the HOUSE,” which ran from October 12 to November 3. This exhibition offered visitors a unique opportunity to admire recent works by this versatile artist, who has been shaking up the art world with his unconventional style since the 1970s.
Kamagurka began his career in 1976 as a young illustrator for the satirical magazine Surprise and later contributed to Hara Kiri and Charlie Hebdo.
Over the years, his sharp, absurd humor and surreal perspective on the world have continued to define his work. This exhibition presented a selection of his most recent paintings and drawings, each reflecting his boundless creativity.

Cowboy Henk, Kamagurka’s iconic comic character created in collaboration with Herr Seele, has now reached cult status. Recently, a giant new sculpture of Cowboy Henk was unveiled at a roundabout in Kortrijk, a testament to how deeply the artist is embedded in Belgian popular culture.
His comics and books have been translated into multiple languages and enjoy international fame.
In addition to his work as a cartoonist, Kamagurka is also active as a performer and illustrator for various media, including Humo, De Standaard, Le Vif, and several international publications in the Netherlands, Germany, England, and the United States.
